New Year ~ New Junking Finds ~ #1

Well, I have already made my first excursion out to the local Goodwill to see what I could find.  This year I'm going to take more time with my purchases and hopefully not make as many as last year. I need to seriously de-clutter my house, garage and my little shop in town!!! I'm going to keep an eye out for items that I can transform, not items that I think I can transform. Items that truly speak to me, not the ones I'm chattering to!!! And finally, I'm hoping to keep a journal here of what I've brought home, titled New Junking Finds #1, 2, 3 etc.

Without further ado~~~

A pretty and petite double handled covered dresser jar.

Unmarked, no chips, a wee bit of paint loss~shabby perfect!
A surprisingly heavy little Hobnail green glass vase.
A sweet little footed crystal compote
Easter's just a hop away!
Fluer de lis napkin holder or letter holder

Ralph Lauren king size pillow slips ~ these are sew easy to alter to fit standard pillows. And save that end piece to make a "cap" for a throw pillow or a whole new throw pillow, just gussy it up with some lace, ribbon, buttons ~ however you wish!!! But, whatever you do don't toss that gorgeous RL fabric!!!
Paid $4.50 for this adorable and sturdy little bench. Going to recover and chalk paint. Maybe, probably, definitely a keeper!!!
Isn't the harp back the cutest?
And what a great find on the back!!! Loving that lions head pull.
A Stylebuilt hamper from the 50's/60's~~~gotta love that Hollywood Regency Glam!!!

See those little spots on the lower half? I used my stainless steel cleaner on this and it cleaned and polished beautifully. Might want to try this in an inconspicuous place on your Hollywood Regency style metal pieces, could be just the trick to clean 'em up. This piece is going to the shop for re-sale along with all the other little smalls.

Sharing at the following ~ please join me;

Thanks for popping in~~~
Happy Hunting and Gathering!!!

  1. I was just thinking yesterday that this is the perfect time of year to go to Goodwill. Everybody is busy purging! Bet you'll find plenty more good things here for awhile if you keep your eyes open. :)
