A Quick Wrap

Thanksgiving morning I was getting ready to go to my sister-in-laws for dinner, when I realized that I had forgot to purchased something to fancy up the two bottles of wine I was bringing as a gift.  So I had to improvise, and this is what I came up with.

In my search for something to use as wrapping I came across these new tea towels that I had left over when I closed my shop.

Some jute twine and  silvery bells and I had those bottles all wrapped up!!!

The third bottle is my gift for my early evening dinner with more family. Yes, I had TWO Thanksgiving dinners!!!

Here's a quick peek at my French Limoges casserole dish holding some pretty glittered pine cones and vintage glass ornaments and tree topper. The metal candle holder is the perfect size to fit the base of the dish so I don't have to worry about it being tipsy. Just doing small vignettes this year instead of a tree.

Frost On The Turkey

Brrrrrrr...here in the Pacific Northwest we woke up to some chilly temperatures. Here on the coast of Oregon it was in the mid 20"s out in the country where I live. Went out and filled all of the bird feeders, when it's this cold on the coast it's extremely cold or snowing in the Cascades, and all the little birds come down to lower elevations to take refuge. So, I have extra beaks to feed this Thanksgiving Day!!!

Wishing You A Happy Thanksgiving Day!

A Winning Thank You

I would like to thank Kathleen of Charm Bracelet Diva for hosting the giveaway on her blog.

I was the winner of the $50.00 gift certificate from Parrot Uncle Lighting .

I have placed my order with Parrot Uncle and these are the pendants I chose. I also ordered the Edison bulbs to go with them.  My order will soon be on it's way.

I can't wait to contact my electrician about installing them. Don't think there's any chance they will get installed before Christmas, but I do have my fingers crossed.

My galley kitchen and dinning area was updated about 16 years ago and at that time I had wonderfully illuminating pot lights installed. It went from moderately lighted to extremely well lit. Out of the six pot lights installed, four are on a three-way switch’s located at each end of the kitchen. The two above the sink are on a single switch just to the right of the sink and  I rarely use them.

Efficient  & Functional...but just no personality!

I can already visualize those adorable little pendants hanging here!

I've used a small lamp with a low wattage bulb for years on top of my refrigerator. It provides enough light for me to poke about in the kitchen without it looking like high noon in the middle of the night.

I’m hoping those charming new pendants with the Edison bulbs will give off a warmer looking light and more of a country feel (which I obliterated in the re-model) with their little wire cages that look like flowers.  Something pretty, not so utilitarian!

I’ve often looked at pendant lights for this area and WISHED I’d  had  some installed when I was re-modeling.  Until recently  I had no idea you could get an adapter kit to convert pot lights over to pendants.  It’s like a wish come true!!!

Stay tuned for the reveal...coming as soon as I can get my electrician here!
